Featured Foodie: Ellie Bullen - Elsa's Wholesome Life

We’ve been watching Ellie grow over the past year or so and have been amazed at the remarkable food she continually produces!

Ellie is a dietician student currently living on the sunny Gold Coast. By checking through her lovely recipes it’s easy to see that she is a plant loving foodie with loads of creative kitchen ideas.

What are your ‘non-negotiables’ when it comes to diet & lifestyle?

Always start your day with a nourishing breakfast and finish your day with a veggie filled dinner!

When & how did you first begin cooking?

In high school I began cooking, I used to be late to school almost everyday, as I would get so caught up cooking extravagant breakfasts and lunches to take to school.

When did you realise how much you loved it?

Straight after school when I left home to join the army for a year, I wasn't able to cook for myself, that’s when I missed it and realised how much I loved it.

What inspired you to start doing what you do? How has your brand developed and what have been some milestones for you?

I always loved cooking healthy food, creating new things. Being a bit of a perfectionist and artist I love making my food look pretty and I taking photos of it. Then once I started my degree (Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics), I started looking at food blogs and instagram pages that inspired me to make my own. It first began just as a little instagram account where I could share my creations, and then I decided to create a blog after I got so many requests for recipes. Now I've just starting working on bringing out an eBook… so that will be my biggest milestone once it’s done!

What do you love about living on the Gold Coast? Are there any restaurants, cafes, stores you visit for inspiration?

I love that there is so much to choose from when it comes to eating out, so many beautiful beaches, and its close enough to home my home (Lennox Head).

I love visiting Paddock Bakery, the entire little rustic house is fitted out with amazing old furniture, which gives me so much inspiration for my food photography, its my dream home.

The food at the Green House Factory and Blendlove continues to inspire new vegan recipes for my blog, and I love visiting the village markets on weekends. Six Things Store is great for hand made plates, bowls, and cutlery to use in my blogging.

When did you first become aware of Loving Earth?

A few years back when I was introduced to your delicious raw chocolate and fell in love!

What's your favourite way to use our foods?

There is just so many ways, just recently I've discovered the chocolate tastes amazing melted over just about everything! Most of all I love the Buckinis mixes sprinkled over my smoothie bowls.
